IATROCOSMOS has got the digital xray system MOVIPLAN 800 with floor-standing X-ray lamp support arm and a portable detector, from the company Villa Sistemi Medicali Ιταλίας and Konica Minolta.
The difference of digital xray compared to old fashioned xray is that all digital xray images, in addition to the high resolution they offer, are also stored electronically in the PACS system and are available to Doctors at any time, for reading and comparative evaluation, thus minimizing the need to handle printed films.
Radiological diagnostic reports are also recorded electronically in the patient's file.
Thus, patients receive printouts of the images and diagnoses, as well as a digital CD/DVD disc, where the digital images of their examinations have been recorded. Digital images of radiological exams are stored unaltered in the department's electronic archive.
