Gastroscopy
Specialized examination that checks the mucosa, that is, the interior of the upper gastric tube. Esophagus, stomach and the initial part of the small intestine, the duodenum, are also examined.
Gastroscopy, unlike colonoscopy, is not usually performed as part of a preventive check-up, but based on symptoms, such as:
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting,
- Nausea,
- Anemia,
- Black Stools,
- Difficulty swallowing
- GERD symptoms
At our clinic, we may also take a biopsy (the cost is additional to the original testing).

The examination lasts approximately 10 minutes and after a short stay in the clinic to allow the effects of intoxication to pass, the patient can leave.
As long as the examination is performed by experienced, specialized personnel, it is safe.
A rare complication is aspiration, the entry of food from the stomach into the lungs, and for this reason fasting is essential.

In order to take your exams and receive your results, payment is required.
Tests payment may be performed:
- on cash
- by card (credit card apart from American Express or debit card)
- through IRIS payment system
In case of using a discount through the use of specific contracted cards such as EY CLUB, etc., it is necessary to present them along with patient's/contractor's ID.
